Description
Dollies (singular: Doll) are a race of creatures originally created by a being of a different species. They are all made of fabric and stuffing, but can walk and talk just like anyone else. They come in three different types, Burlap Dollies, Cloth Dollies, and Felt Dollies. Burlap are the tallest and strongest, often named based off of their appearance. They aren't at the top of society, usually being lowly workers doing hard labour. They may be seen better if they "tidy themselves up" by using cutesy accessories and glitter (basically makeup) to make themselves more appealing. Cloth are the most common, and tend to be in the middle of society, some higher, some lower. They're named depending on where they are in society, off of their appearance if tough, and short and cute if, well, cute. Even if tough, they are usually, however, seen as a joke, because of their short stature and lack of arms. Felt are the second most common, and tend to be higher up in the ranks, seen as "ideal" to the others. Many felt can lead completely normal lives, but if there's a head of a company, it's probably a felt. Their names are short and cute, often ending in an "ee" sound like "fluffy" or "pinky". Dollies need to breath, sleep, and eat just like other living being despite being made of fabric and stuffing. They bleed the stuffing, but it can be replaced. If their fabric is ripped, it can be repaired via sewing it, and will heal, leaving a small seam (not the one that was used to repair it, a naturally forming one) that acts like a scar. Dollies in general do not reproduce sexually, but rather get particular ingredients (not just regular thread and fabric) to sew together a new being. They are not made fully grown, however, and do in fact age. They CAN reproduce sexually, however, just not with another Doll. This is how you get hybrids of the species, buuuuut I'll be covering hybrids as a whole in a later reference. Now, onto specifics of the three different types...Burlap Dollies are the cheapest to make, as well as the toughest. The only downside to them is that they're not very pretty to look at, all of them having tan to brown material and sock-like arms and legs, with heads tied up at the top. They never have glass, sequins, or fake jewel eyes, them always being made of buttons (the most common), or painted plastic. They may be sewn or glewed on. As for their arms and legs, the most common variant is to be a solid colour with a different coloured tip for the hand or foot. Some may have striped arms and legs (which are uncommon), or patterned arms and legs (which are incredibly rare). They may have accessories around their necks or the ties on their heads, or they may style the ties to make them more appealing.
Cloth Dollies are the most common, being fairly inexpensive and easily made. They follow the basic design of tissue ghosts or teru bozus, having drawn on faces and little ribbons around their necks to keep the cloth in their heads in. They use their ribbon as an arm, since they don't have any. Their legs are made of the fabric stuffing their heads, and are usually the same colour as their eyes. They tend to have light colours and one solid colour as their main cloth colour, but the can (rarely) have dark or patterned material. Their Neck ties can be shredded cloth, ribbons, string, yarn, and even tape, ribbons, string and yarn being the most common. They are usually short, and tall ones are rare, but not unheard of. They usually have simple cheek patterns as well.
Felt Dollies are the second most common, but more expensive to make than the others. The upside to this is that they look more humanoid, being considered "pretty". They have hair which can be any colour, and noses come in many shapes, but are always orange. They always have cheeks the colour of one of their stripes. Their clothes aren't actually clothes and are in fact part of them, and are most commonly three different colours, one for the body and two for the striped arms and legs. they may also have a stripe across their middle, it being the colour of one of their arm stripes. They can have an extra colour one their shoes that doesn't count to their total number of colours. Uncommon traits are alternate shapes on their cheeks, two, four, or five colours on their body, sequin, glass, or button eyes, and two, three, or custom-shaped stripes. Rare traits are visible stitches, felt hair instead of yarn, six or more colours on their body, custom shaped eyes, and completely missing limb stripes. They usually wear more accessories than the other Dollies.
WOAH.
man.
hhhhhhhh. writing.
bleh, anyway,,,,,
Have another open species! This one is more actually open-species-y with three different types of the same species, and all of them having common, uncommon, and rare traits.
So customizable!
I might actually make adoptables for these guys if anybody wants one... though I suppose since it's open you could always make one yourself? I suppose it would be more like an adoptable for an already existing species, huh? ahhh, I'm rambling...
I suppose you can see that they're a species from Imaginary Monsters, since Buttons and Stitches, and Teru Bozu and Teru Teru are there.
If you have any questions, feel free to ask!~
