Description
Here's that famous swashbuckling duo, Fafhrd and the Gray Mouser!I wouldn't say I'm the greatest fantasy reader out there or anything, far from it in fact, but after a steady diet of Eddings, Brooks, Goodkind, and Jordan (to say nothing of the JRPG genre!), it actually blew my mind a little that there could be fantasy that wasn't "high." The day-to-day, "unimportant" adventures of rogues like Fafhrd & the Gray Mouser were a huge breath of fresh air for me and now I feel like I can't get enough of the low-fantasy Sword & Sorcery genre. Really, it's highly recommended.
I initially drew a much cooler skull in the background but I felt like it just took over the whole image. You can see that skull here: [link]

Oh man, I'm a huge fan of Fafhrd and The Grey Mouser! I totally agree with you about the low-fantasy thing. Lankhmar and Nehwon are dark and gritty, and I'd hate to see them any other way. You make me proud, man. Keep up the good work, and I can't wait to see more Dawn of Time!

I barely remember anything of all those books I read when I was young, but I definitely remember liking Fafhrd and the Gray Mouser a lot more than the one book (each) I read by Eddings, Goodkind and Jordan. Low fantasy is the best! (Not that I'm entirely sure what the definition of high and low fantasy are. Is it the level of magic/fantasy, or is it the level of the conflicts?)

Yeah, I love it! Man, if only I had the sense to stop after one Goodkind!
According to Wikipedia, it's primarily the level of the conflicts being on a more personal level instead of on a global, word or universe-ending one. [link] Theirs is a pretty good definition!
