Judging by the damage to the table top, Superman has already won the arm wrestling contest. But what's going on now eludes me.

Ah, that's the result of superman punching the table with his fist. The idea is that they have been going at it for a while and superman is irritated and fatiqued. If doomsday's arm has touched the table, I would imagine a much bigger hole.
