Renki has captured his pumpkin! Yes, I said Renki. Now, for those of you out there who know these wolves, you're going to look at this and tell me that I'm wrong.....that this isn't Renki. Let me assure you....it is. Renki is ten years old now and age does have a way of changing things. He's isn't a young pup any longer and he has changed over the years. His pumpkin was, in fact, stuffed with less treats than the others because they've had to put him on a diet; a term they assured us that he doesn't like!
Our boy does like the vittles! He still has a spring in his step and seems to be doing well, if only a little on the heavy side. At times he spends time with Kailani but today he was on his own, as they tend to get on each others nerves and needs some "alone" time. And he wasn't going to share that pumpkin with anyone!Wolf Park, Battleground, IN

They do if you stuff them with nice smelly wolfy treats! It's a nice enrichment tool that they use. They must break the pumpkin open to obtain the good things inside. Plus they have a bunch of fun with them! In the springtime, they do the same thing with watermelons!

Yes, the sight of a wolf with a pumpkin isn't something you see every day! And Renki is indeed a cutie pie! Although in his youth, he was quite a mischievous boy! The use of the pumpkins stuffed with wolf treats is really good enrichment for the wolves. The yotes, foxes and even the bison received them too! In the spring, they receive watermelons!

Oh yes, Renki is indeed a cute wolf! And, in his youth, a mischievous one too! The pumpkins stuffed with delicious wolf treats are given for enrichment purposes and the wolves LOVE them!!!! In the spring, they does the same thing with watermelon!

Thank you so much for the comment!!!! This was shot through fencing so it was a great challenge! He isn't a young wolf any longer and his age is beginning to show! I've known him since he was a young pup! Very near and dear to my heart! Even though he has knocked me on my keester!
