I was messing around with Illustrator when I decided to try and make a crest. And here's the result after a few hours work. I'm actually quite satisfied with the basilisk (or whatever it is those creatures are calledIllustrator 8

Duuuude. That is kickass work there, my friend. And I think that's a griffin, but I could be wrong.
Is that a coat of arms in general, or for a specific European country and family name? 'cause it kind of seems Irish to me, although the griffin's not necessarily in the traditional Irish form and the shield is similar to the pale.
I'd ramble on about what the colours and the griffin and what the shield mean, but that'd be boring.

This crest is just something I made up from top to bottom, I only used a bit of reference to get the basilisk/griffin's legs correct.

i would be proud of this too... looks great, did you use the pen tool yeah?? im still getting to grips with it, have made a few things like my logo in my icon thingy.. its just to complicated though any hints?

Yeah, I used the pen tool, it's about the only tool I know how to use properly so far. Any hints? They say that practice makes perfect
