Well, maybe if you give 7 or more years you might get. Is what I stimate it would take for some producer to consider make something serious about Darkstalkers, and there's no even guarantee that is going to be good, unless something amazing happens, like Platinum games or Tango Gameworks make the game.

Similar games won't replace the interest on the franchise itself. People loves the characters, in fact, it is more about the characters than the game, they could make for a example a Musou game of Darkstalkers and if its good, everyone would love it. At this point most people care little if it's a One on One game or a Beat em up.

Now now, it may not be true PRESENTLY, but I wouldn't be surprised at some point if it DOES happen.
...OK, I probably WILL, but if you think about it, sooner or later an "old-school" CAPCOM fanboy (or a whole group of them) might make it to the upper echelons of the CAPCOM business world, and we might actually see another Darkstalkers game!
