Description I was hesititant to do this project at first because I thought no one would get it, but even if you weren't familiar with the book, it is still a fun picture. I have only recently read Madeleine L'Engle's "A Wrinkle in Time," which I can highly recommend [link] . Here we see Marge Simpson as Mrs. Whatsit, with Fry as Charles Wallace, Leela as Meg and a young Professor Farnsworth as Calvin. It was tough nailing the characters down for this one, as I wanted to have Leela as Mrs. Whatsit. I then thought about having Morgan Proctor for that part, but that didn't fit either. My next choice was Mom, which definately didn't fit. Marge was a good fit, as she is a motherly type. I also did research on the Futurama episode "Teenage Mutant Leela's Hurdles" for the kid version of the characters. For those not familiar with the story, the magical Mrs. Whatsit takes the kids to the planet of Uriel via a fold in space, and turns into one of her many forms, in this case a Pegasus. The kids have to save Charles and Meg's father from a dark entity similar to that on Green Lantern. L'Engle, unlike many similar writers, has a good grasp on many hard science fiction topics.

"Yes, little Leela, there is such a thing as a tesseract!"

I really like this! The characters you chose are perfect for the roles they're portraying

Um...okay. XD I love A Wrinkle In Time, but I never expected there to be Simpsons and futuramas in it!

Thanks! I discovered that book quite late, having never read it as a kid. I think Marge looks cute in this role.

She does. I don't watch the Simpsons, but I find her cute here.

The Simpsons is a funny story for me; it took me years to start watching the show, but I used to watch their short little cartoons on the Tracy Ulman show in the late 1980's.

I didn't know they started from there. I haven't been that interested to look it up. Interesting.

By the time they started up the show in 89, I was working about 75 hours a week and I don't even remember when it started.

I'd actually seen the book here and there for about 40 years, and never knew what it was about. When I finally read it, there were some amazing parallels to things I've written.

I've been a sci-fi fan for like forever. Believe it or not that was the very first sci-fi book I ever read.

There are parts of it that are very similar to Turapec and his illusions. I saw the movie a few weeks ago, but it's not really that good. My first SF novel I tried to read was Isaac Asimov's "The Stars Like Dust," but it was way above my head.
