Description
The girls have had enough. Marge has a garden to plant. Lois has plans to travel. And Richelle Davies - she's got Reds tickets. But the Rain Gods just keep bringing the rain. Last month they gave Old Man Winter his traveling papers www.deviantart.com/gulliver63/… This idea hit me the other day as I watched a downpour literally make a river through my yard. In the month of May we've seen rain and or storms nearly every day. In Indy we were very lucky to get the 500 mile race in - on Monday we had 6 tornadoes here in our state. It's time for the bad weather to take a cruise for a while. BTW, how did you like the rain goddess with the rain cloud for hair?Marge is the property of Matt Groening. Lois is the property of Seth MacFarlane. Little Richelle is the property of myself, Robert L. Fitzpatrick.

I'm getting better at that as the years go on. I was also happy with that right arm, extending toward camera. You've helped to teach me many of these things...

What's next, Mr Sun told to scram when they discover they can fry eggs on a car roof?

::laughs:: It's a year around thing. What's funny and ironic about the local scene here is just a year ago we were under "red flag" conditions for being so dry - they wanted people to be careful with campfires and such.
Mr. Sun...I feel a Beatles song coming on...

I read your email, and I'm very sorry that you had to go through a series of torrential downpours in Indiana, so your current pic of Marge, Richelle and Lois telling the Goddess of Rain to take a hike is quite appropriate. Here in SoCal, we've had mostly overcast skies with one rainstorm just two days ago. Now, we have sunshine at last. Hopefully, the sun will be shining on you and yours soon. Nice little pic. Your Goddess of Rain is a truly original character. I especially like Marge crabbing about her flooded garden.

Well, every day I check the weather out on my computer to determine what to wear to work. I also now have a super neat rain cover for my grill that Nan made for me from boat upholstery.
I like to think of Marge as a gardening gal. I don't know whether they went that direction in the show or not, but it seems right.

I also consult the weather on my computer, although I don't go out that much except to run errands or keep appointments. I believe in one episode of the Simpsons, Marge was shown doing yard work but no gardening, so like you, I'd like to think of her as one who putters in the garden. And I for one can't imagine either Rhonda or Richelle on their knees digging weeds out of a garden.

I can sort of imagine Lois doing it, but not to the extent that Marge would. I think of Lois more in line with giving kids piano lessons to make a few extra pesos and such. I wouldn't imagine Richy doing it much, as I would imagine her living in an apartment, but coming from a small town in Ohio I can see that she'd be able to do it. I can definitely see her being a Reds fan (or possibly even a Cleveland Indians fan) and getting a kick out of a ball game.
Speaking of weeds, my wife has worked hard at pulling those suckers - the neighbors pay her well for the work she does. The other day at Lowes we bought some potted plants, and I got a bell pepper plant - I really want to grow those suckers for the grill.

Homegrown bell peppers sound mighty tasty. And I'm sure it'll be an interesting project for you. Since you mentioned Richy being a baseball fan (either the Reds or Cleveland Indians), I've been planning a pose pic of Richelle, Rhonda, Stuart and Terry as part of a coed softball team with Stuart as head coach and first baseman, Rhonda as pitcher and Richelle as catcher. I haven't figured out what position Terry would play.

A softball team sounds like a fun idea. As far as Terry is concerned, I like the idea of him being from Phoenix; in my canon of Richy, I had her getting her masters from ASU, which is where she could have met him.

I'm glad you're on board with my idea. As for Terry's softball position, I suppose I could put him at second base since Stuart will play first base. This thing about Richelle getting her masters from Arizona State University reminds me of the two pics I did of our characters wearing sweatshirts showing off their college colors.

Oh yeah - I got close to the campus in January when we did a bit of shopping in Tempe, but not on to it. I got a cheap little Sun Devils lanyard for my work ID while I was up there. One of the reasons that I picked that school for Richy's masters is that we considered a couple of Arizona schools for my daughter for her masters.

Sort of an "art imitates life" scenario regarding your choice of schools for your daughter. Unlike your Richelle, Rhonda doesn't have that many fond memories of college other than the frat party mixers she attended. And let's not forget her infamous sneaking into the football team locker room. I wonder how Richy would react to that.

I agree. Richelle is definitely more the bookworm type. And yet, she and Rhonda are friends.

Yep, that's what we need for a while. I've got parts of my lawn that I can't cut because the mower will sink into the mud and have to be pushed out.
