snails dont have teeth. but they have soft spikes on there rulvala (mouth)
so he/she must of licked her

This is a neat idea. Was the original picture taken in black-and-white? If the original picture was in color, you might think about sending it through photoshop again, and then using the adjustments controls to make the face of the child black-and-white, and the snail in color, so the snail will stand out more.
