Well, I've been lax in checking in at Deviant Art, and now that I have, I see a whole lot of invitations that have expired Β I hope the invitations still stand??

My pleasure dear!!!Β
Ohhh Β DD stands for "Daily Deviation", and it's a feature that deviantART creates to showcase a select group of deviations for one whole day everyday Β
You can read more about it here ...
FAQ #61: What is a Daily Deviation?
FAQ #18: Who selects Daily Deviations and how are they chosen?
It's a real honor, so you can be very proud of yourself, not everybody gets there

Clever transformation - is the face a self-portrait? If so, it is a wonderful play on the idea of the arguably tenuous connection between names and their objects. The trompe-l'oeil realism underscores the theme of literal vs. representation: I notice that the left and right hands appear to belong to different "levels" of reality!

Yes, the face is a self-portrait. I actually discovered the "link" between my profile and my signature while playing around in my sketchbook. Thanks for noticing the differences in the hands

Very nice, I can see Escher doing something like this, or perhaps something from Cole's Funny Picture Books.

Very cool, I didn't even had to read the discription to notice the resemblence with Escher, one of my favorite artists

It'd be nice to see more "how to draw [x]" books with pages done like this. Is that Tyrion there?.
