Continue to learning Chinese ink brush painting on raw rice paper. This learning process helps me to read a lot of history and literature in depth.

In Chinese Culture, fish, particularly goldfish, symbolize prosperity. They are often used in greetings during the Chinese New Year due to a linguistic similarity, where the word “fish” is homophones with “abundance”. This Chinese ink brush painting, which I created to celebrate the Lunar New Year of the Dragon, is a testament to this culture significance.
In the painting, I portray a vibrant fish navigating through an underwater garden. The fish, adorned with scales in hues of orange and yellow, has translucent, flowing fins. The surrounding aquatic flora adds depth to the scene. I’ve incorporated an ancient poem, author unknown, which translates to: “As I stroll along the riverbank, I comprehend the wisdom of the ancient philosopher ZhuangZi - ‘If you are not a fish, how can you understand their joy?’ This realization fills my heart with delight. I believe the fish in the river share my sentiments.” .
