little kids usually are uncooperative, they only do what suits them at the time! I guess that's why its a little hard to get pictures of them!

yeah, flustered little kids are adorable. running away uncooperative kids are not...some of the kids i used to babysit did that every once in awhile.

I work as a graphic designer, and 50% of the work our company does is school prospectuses/brochures, with my boss doing all the photography. He takes upto 1200 shots in a day at times, which means I spend a hell of a lot of time looking at pics of cute kids, cyphering off the best of the ones he's taken. And he's really good at what he does, too, its mostly his photography (helped by the design of yours truly) that sells us. So where am I going with this meandering tale? Well.. I'm really taken with the pic, and I've looked at shed loads of kid photographs (and we're talking tens of thousands here). Which in long winded sam speak means thats a good thing. Your niece is so cute, which helps, and certainly from a designers point of view, I think the crop of the picture works well. Unless what her hand is doing was crucial to the photo, it's secondary, and this would look so fantastic as a page in a borchure with some text off to the left hand side. You've captured her expression perfectly, it gets across the cheeky but likeable character of the little girl, which I'm guessing was the whole point of the image. The more and more I see of your stuff the more I'm really taken with your eye for the world around you and how it relates to you as a person.

i really dont know what to say..hahaha, i love you comments, they can be bible length, but i'll still read them. what you said, IS VERY encouraging, upbuilder, and gives more confidence in my work. especially because of the fact that you sound so darn professional. seriously, hahahah. but just the whole thing with you boss n' all. and im not saying, oh man, i can totally just beat your boss into the ground, but im just really glad that my photography can be compared with professional work. i really hope I can go somewhere with my photography someday and you can only be something positive in my goals. you seriously rock. and about the print account, do you have msn or something you can note me? with your experience in the business, i have a feeling you know a bit about copyrights and blah blah blah. before i submit anything in prints of was considering looking into copyright and was hoping someone with knowledge about that stuff could talk and help me out with how it works. so if you have any free time at all and if theres anyway of havin a quick IM chat with you, i'd be honored.

I figure you could definitely do something with your photography, I have no idea what the market is like in the US but if you could pull off children's photographs like this quickly, there'd certainly be a market for you in school photography.
