Description
After receiving some very encouraging comments from deviants wishing to fold my origami modelsI recommend you use at least 15cmx15cm paper size. Best folded using thickish paper, but basically any paper will do.
It is sufficient to simply fold without reading the small print below each step. It is only for reference purpose, for example if you got stuck and don't know how to execute that particular step. I used standard origami symbols to draw this diagram.
Note the final few steps I deliberately put extra effort to describe the locking mechanism of the hip, this part can be difficult but interesting.
You may not be able to succeed in your first trial, but that is common, even for me, I suppose you may need to try at least twice before getting a satisfactory product. That is not your problem, but mine, because I failed to draw a better diagram
I would love to see finished product from people who managed to complete this model, that would make me very happy
Note: If you plan to use the diagram for purpose other than personal reference or teaching purpose, please inform me in advance. Thank you

You should try this one first, the gryphon is going to take around 150 steps still working on how to draw the diagram

Oh, man, and I thought the little critter to be simple!
I definitely gotta have to try it, but I haven't still tried doing your lion, and I'm quite busy right now. I think it'll have to wait 'til summer...
As for the diagram, very good. It looks pretty clear and has lotsa comments.

Don't try it with 80g/m2 21x21 cm paper.... steps 23-26 are a nightmare... but i done it...
Great tutorial, i had some dificulties on steps 23 to 26... but i think that was because of paper...

guspath In reply to zebarnabe [2005-05-29 05:48:00 +0000 UTC]
80gsm, that is pretty thin, yes you should use heavier paper, 110gsm is better choice I think Happy if you put the finished welsh corgi photo on your scrap for me to collect
Plan to devise a deviation showing all the successful corgis
Also I'll
successful attempt to reward those willing to try

80g/m2 is quite thick!!! is quite hard to do a my first dragon that simply uses a dragon base with some extras... your corgis well to me it seems impossibles... it took me 30 mins to make the bends from 23-26 steps... but i manage to get it...
a corgi photo? sure!! but the quality will not be the best i borrow my digital camera to my sis... i only have my mobile phone

guspath In reply to shricory [2005-05-28 11:28:01 +0000 UTC]
Oh I see Yes if you can do step 6, 7 and 8 then step 9 is simply repeating the same thing on the opposite side of the paper
I don't wanna draw the samething twice

shricory In reply to guspath [2005-05-28 11:30:10 +0000 UTC]

guspath In reply to shricory [2005-05-28 11:33:14 +0000 UTC]
Yes, if you can do until step 9 then you should be able to go to 10, you simply repeat the same thing, step 6-8 on the left lower area of the paper, I don't wanna draw the same folding step twice

Hehe... I am glad to hear you managed so far The 23-26 steps is indeed the most interesting part, it will lock the model by the hip to prevent paper spread
Using bigger paper will help

I usually use a regular 8x11 paper and take the square out of it. But I'm glad to know that's where the hard stuff is, and that I actually did get far xD, thanks for the tip
