Japanese medieval material science was exellent, indeed.
But Shinto is very special in some regards, i guess and
from rookie t general is a long way, usually, so i am more
interested in more modern defensive techiques.

Just one thing, the umbrella is indeed useless in there and the rain clearly hits the character. So should'nt the character look a little more soaked?
Like in your other pic "war", the bandages look soaked, and the water drops run down the arms.
