My commissioned D.Va piece by Deviantart, for Blizzard Entertainment's Overwatch!
This piece was as much fun as it was challenging, and it was a great experience for me! What struck me about the character was how energetic she is, so I tried my best to show that here!

Just remember if you are going to try to help, she is under negative influences and in a really sad and angry mood, don't encourage her to harm herself in any way possible and try to be as nice as you can. I love the perspective on this piece. I can hear her saying "Nerf this!" as she is falling from the mech, now in overload modeΒ with its boosters on full blast arching over the map toward the enemy position.

That is simply not true, yes the main point of D.Va is the robot, but if she was never meant to be out of it she wouldn't be able to and she is so ^^=false. When she self-destructs the mech the girl inside it doesn't cease to exist. Plus you can imagine that that when she isn't in a match she's not just running around in the mech so ^^still=false. Your opinion about the character has no impact on the validity of this picture. Also considering this was commissioned by the creators of the game ... I'm pretty sure they know their character better than you do.

I couldnΒ΄t care less, IΒ΄m just saying that I hate the fact everybody is just drawing her without her mech.
Its like samus aran, most artists draw her without suit for the "Oh im a horny boy, samus is so hot" factor.

What you say is pretty much nonsense.. its a promotion event.
Do you know the promotion picture with all the heroes? Guess why D.va is sitting on her mech there and not without it?
The character D.va is about a gamer girl using a mech for battle, isnt it?
Or is it just a girl with a little pistol and a bodysuit?
Stop thinking you know everything better, just because you like it. Judging from your gallery, you are pretty fine with girls who have not much to wear.

Hate is such a strong word. Sure the artist portrayal lacked essence, missing such a key component of the character, but hate? It's still a lovely piece nonetheless.

Yes true, but the fact that every one does it... makes me mad. There are maybe 5% of fanart with her mech, and they are awesome.
