Thanks! wow, that must one awesome lecture, think id kill to see jaimie jones do a demonstration, the reason i chose this image is because its like the only painting of his i could find that showed his process, so i tried to work through the image the same way he did, although theres a couple of things i couldnt figure out, like the armor for example, because its looks like he used photo textures but knowing his skill i doubt it he did.

No problem, Β I don't know about all his work but I dont think he used any photo textures, he's just that good. Β He's a pretty chill guy too, he was just sitting in the back of the class room waiting for the critiques in James Paicks class to be over before he said a single word. When he did talk he went over his process and then just talked about life in general as an artist. Β He was super deep to say the least.

yeah i agree man, jamie jones is just a remarkable artist, i also dont think he uses photo textures, his work boggles my mind.wow its so awesome you got to see him work, its so crap that i live in south africa, apart from live streams i doubt ill ever get the opportunity to see these guys do their thing in person.

You never know, last semester in my class there were more students from out side of the country than there were students who lived locally (it helps that international students get first dibs on classes by a month before hand) Β As far as photo textures go, I know Im too much of a slave to them, Ive really got to break the habit of relying on them.

yeah i guess, i know that theres alot of people from europe gettting into the entertainment industry in the states, but like from south africa theres not really a community here of digital artist not like in europe or america, gallery art is very big here, traditional is favoured more than digital. but i think it will change in the next few years were really far behind in the times, would love to study in the states but its so dam expensive i looked up awhile back some pricing for TAD and i just laughed, so i figure im gonna probably be doing online tutorials until i can afford noah bradleys art camp ,lol. yeah i know what you mean about using photo textures and bashing, i also become a slave to them, but i get so frustrated working with them that if i finish a peice were i used alot ill just go and spend like a day or two just purely sketching, you know try and balance it out
