Octowoman2419 asked me to draw Peach as Sakura from Naruto. I couldn't do it for a couple of reasons. I had an another Peach request on the list. Also, I don't watch Naruto anymore for a variety of reasons including sporting events on TV. She offered me to draw Daisy instead, and I accepted. It wasn't until I found some inspiration for the request, and I chose the William Huskisson statue by John Gibson. it was because the statue had the classical feel especially with the drapery and scroll on the right hand. From there, I chose to do that with Daisy since she's the princess of Sarasaland. For the background, I chose to add the colors from this year's Breeders' Cup Juvenile Turf Sprint winner Golden Pal. Trainer Wesley Ward had five horses for the race because he knows how to race turf 2 year-olds even with Amanzi Yimpilo getting scratched. Golden Pal got the lead immediately after the starting gate opened. The horse was hard to control even with the lead he had as his stablemates Into The Sunrise and Blame The Booze were close, and Bodenheimer got the lead. However, Golden Pal retook the lead, and he controlled the speed by the far turn as he had speed with a four length lead in the stretch. Even with Cowan's late run, Golden Pal upheld the run to win the Juvenile Turf Sprint by three-quarters of a length. "Daisy klassinen" means "Daisy the Classical" in Finnish because of the influence I had in mind for the drawing. I used both elements from Golden Pal's silks and daisies to honor the princess' namesake. However, I had to draw some additional cloth on Daisy's right breast because I had to be careful with the nudity despite of the bare classical body on the original statue. I can hope that the shading was there as I made this request, but I can improve from the experience. My originality with Daisy and the statue I had in mind would be wonderful as I had plenty of classical flavors. I do hope Octowoman2419 loves the request I made for her.
