I bow to the awesomeness of this model, that is one heck of a paint job. Wish I had the patience to do my models like it...

This is crazy cool. This really makes me want to have an airbrush, the colours you have chosen work really well.

Why shouldn't Harlequins have their own Wraithlords

about that stickers.... they are stickers... no???...
so awsome... where did you take them from???.. did they come with the mini???

guyver1 In reply to tsunnamii [2006-04-19 12:21:37 +0000 UTC]
no they're not stickers, they're decals. I got an Eldar decal pack from Games Workshop and used a simple trick of overlaying 2 of the same decals over the top of each other but slightly offset to create a 'shadow' effect.

have you ever built model aeroplanes? decals are the stickers you have to put in warm water and slide them off the paper onto the model.
Hope that helps

If you mean the colour blend from red to blue to yellow, it was done with an airbrush specifically a Badger 150 double action airbrush and Humbrol enamel paints. glad you like

I bought a airbrush recently and do not know what kind of paint to use.. could u give me some advices please??
👍: 0 ⏩: 1
guyver1 In reply to tsunnamii [2006-04-20 12:45:13 +0000 UTC]
Humbrol enamels are excellent, use white spirits to thin them down. I also use inks and occasionally Games workshop acryillic paints again thinned down with water.
Whatever paints you use (apart from ink) you need to thin them down to the consistency of milk to get the best opacity while avoiding clogging of airbrush nozzle.

to thin do I use just water in the case of acrylics?? cause I have those, but not the othars...
hmm here we have "tinta china" that is lika "chinese ink"... could that work???
thanks for everything

guyver1 In reply to tsunnamii [2006-04-21 12:11:47 +0000 UTC]
yes with acrylic paint use water, indian ink or chinese ink will work fine, use the ink undiluted first, if it has trouble spraying properly out of the nozzle then dilute it slightly with water. Ink's usually go undilluted into my airbrush.

really.. I just needed someone to tell me I could use my airbrish with something I already had... to start practicing and then passing to better inks..
THANKS!

wow....i wanna see more of your warhammer work (if any)

guyver1 In reply to KeNjIr0 [2006-04-19 12:25:21 +0000 UTC]
no more warhammer stuff
My m8 was massive into warhammer stuff, but little tiny models do nothing for me, the wraithlord was the only thing that was barely parge enough and 'cool' enough to grab my attention to actually paint.

what about a dreadnaught? there's that, and the Chaos Defiler which looks bad ass. If you did a Tyrannid Carnifex, i am sure that would look awesome! kinda expensive tho, but i think you could do one ultimate justice! X)
