I liked the whole fusion combination thing honestly. It's clearly on a deeper level than GaoGaiGar's fusion combinations which came afterward.
Also, on the topic of outright becoming the mecha, I've noticed it's only cyborgs and Sentai teams that do so.

Doesn't surprise me ( although I do want it), since the Braves toy lines have been making their rounds as bootlegs, sometimes with completely different paint jobs.

Normal GaoGaiGar is the weakest of the Braves in all honesty.

Naw, Fire Dagwon is the main characters normal mecha for the first third or so of the series.
It get's trashed, and replaced by "Power Dagwon"... and for a finale... merges with Power Dagwon to form "Super Fire Dagwon".
It's powerful yes, probably compairable to early GGG.
