Description

Not necessarily the most powerful mage in the world, but definitely one of the most dangerous to encounter, due to his area of expertise. His obsession is violence. Wounds. Blood. His eyes bloodshot but glowing, his hands and feet enlarged by his use of magic, stained permanently with blood, with claws growing instead of fingernails. His cloak was ruined long ago by his own aggressive actions, slashed and torn as he developed his favorite spell, a blade impossible to be blocked or denied, with an edge forever sharp, completely invisible and intangible, cutting through flesh and bone easily.
When he was young and inexperienced, a famous and skilled knight challenged him to a duel, and ended up slashing the mage's head. This proved to be a mistake. If he had beheaded the creature, the battle would have ended. but as blood and metal invaded the mage's brain, he saw something, and gained a higher conscience, killing the surprised knight. The knight's land is still haunted by the mage now known as the mage of wounds, his hood still showing the gash in his head.
The creature is barely aware of himself or his surroundings, not being able to remember much other than his magic. He only recovers his identity when in a fight, where his mind focuses and his words open scars long healed, and entices the violent urges in all living things around him.
A group of necromancers understood how dangerous it would be for the mage to leave this land, so they cursed the entirety of the knight's land, making all creatures rise from the dead constantly to keep the mage entertained. These necromancers were pardoned for their crimes by the king, thankful he wouldn't have to deal with a magical murderer.
