Kohaku paused for a moment. Hiro wonderd if he had said something off-putting, because she seemed like she was trying to hide an expression he could not place.

"Yeah, a real one," she responded at last. "I mean, if it works there it can work here too. You've noticed how weird things are around here, right?"

Hiro gave a chuckle he hoped sounded genuine. "It is a bit odd, but I'm sorry, I'll have to pass. Spooky stuff is not my thing. I, uh, appreciate the invite nonetheless."
