In a true show of corporate incompetence, DC Comics has lost the right to use the name "Captain Marvel" as Marvel owns the name as a trademark. And on top of that, Geoff Johns has decided in his infinite wisdom that everyone will now refer to Captain Marvel as "Shazam." End of argument.

So. Not. Happening.

Cap's been around longer than Geoff, so to just tell all of Cap's fans that they have it wrong is just ridiculous. Why some copyright judge can't say that DC and Marvel share the trademark on that name is beyond me.

So as long as I'm doing these covers, I will continue to call the Big Red Cheese "Captain Marvel", who chants the name of the wizard who gave him his powers -- namely "SHAZAM!" Sorry Geoff, but 77 years of comics and fandom can't be wrong.
