These guys are from a webcomic my friend Monika aka ~waterkangaroo (link posted in case she eventually bothers to use her account) and I are doing! It's a rather pun-filled parody of superhero comics called "The Adventures of Mailman" or something along those lines.Featured here are the Postmaster General, Mailman's mutinous boss/ tyrant, a random girl who might get a part as somebody's sister (most likely Zippy-aka-Zip-Code-the-sidekick), a random heroine or villain(ess?) who might get a part as I don't even know, and Fred X, who looks to me like he'll be an inovative type dude.
We're working on figuring out powers and designing Mailman and Zippy right now. XD
Hahaha, would anyone actually read this if we worked on it this summer?
Note to self: the multiply tool SUCKS. Never use it again, dear god. Otherwise you'll have to pump up the contrast to crazy levels like this.

What I love about these characters is the fact that the superhero genre you mentioned really has been done before, but this approach makes it feel fresh and new. And your designs make them all colorful and delightful, almost being real in their abstract appearance. Though I enjoy the muscles and seriousness of Batman and such, it does limit what we as the audience expect from any type of hero, which is pure strength of heart.
And from the start you have me wiyh possible questions and answers for these characters. Like what is the allegence of the random heroine/villainess, how overshadowing is the postman general, will the sisterly type be able to help in someway, and how many keys does Fred X have for the story. These are just some of the questions I have and it makes me excited to find out more.
I don't know if this helps from a new watcher, but I do hope for the best and I would be happy to read it as well. As an aspiring webcomic artist as well, its great to see what others can do and what you can learn.
And I believe you on the contrast, but glad you know what not to do.

A lot of people seem to use that, but I guess...well...Iunno.

It's so freaking annoying, haha! To get a uniform color, you can't lift up the tablet pen AT ALL otherwise when you color again and accidentally go over the first color job, it gets weird and dark.
I usually make lineart from my sketches and color that, but I had no time today. D:
