htdcam, well one has to say, its not boring....just as an aside, very often while driving south towards the border from Gila Bend, you'll see target practice - jets shooting missiles at targets directly over the road, that is to say the jet shoots the missile east of the road, and hits the target west of the road, while you're driving on the road...does that make any sense? Missiles over your head?

Sounds more like a game of chance. I have never been out that way, but now this makes me want to go there. Does that make me crazy? hah. I suppose it could add some dynamic to a landscape shot if you were to incorporate the missiles into the image.

PDP, can't help but love your sig. 'cause Picasso had it right. I'm reminded of this whenever I hear the argument that talent is not necessary to be a photog. You might be amazed how often I read this on the web. Its like saying, that if I practice guitar for 16 hours a day for say, for my whole life, that I might be SRV (Stevie Ray Vaughn)
LOL, that not happening in any lifetime. I know. For sure. People with talent make connections the rest can't. Pure an simple. Those that say otherwise are rationalizing their lack of talent.

Thank you. I believe Picasso had it right too. I always wondered when I chose that quote, how people might interrupt it. I'm not saying a person can't learn skills when it comes to artistic matters. However, I don't believe you can teach someone to paint/ do photography/ etc. and them be masters at it. I believe it (that instinct/ability) is in that person already. It is talent, definitely. I believe you can improve upon that talent with practice, absolutely. But, I think either you have it or you don't. Like you said, practicing guitar 16 hours a day your whole life isn't going to make you a Stevie Ray Vaughn.
I had to read a book for an art class, and the two people that wrote the book (which it was a great book btw & I agree with a lot of what was in it) would debate with us on our statements. Because they say basically that everyone can learn how to draw and that you don't have to have talent. They basically say...(my words)...that masters at an art form are rare. I agree that everyone can learn to draw, but that doesn't mean they'll be great at drawing. That's where my opinion differs with them. But, I guess it is debatable.
But, like you said, people with talent make connections the rest can't.
