In a Star Trek based story, why would anyone be one eyed? They have the science to grow, build or otherwise replace a missing or dysfunctional eye. That's not to say it doesn't look cool, chicks in eye patches rock, but it seems out of place in a Star Trek story, even Jordy had his visor.
