Hello, my friends.
I've watched the new "Sherlock Holmes" movie trailer just few days ago and I am enchanted. It is beautiful, funny, dynamic. I know that lots of people think this portrayal of Holmes is in many ways an insult to the canon, but I find the change interesting and refreshing (with all my love to other adaptations).
And... let's face the truth: RDJ and Jude Law make the cutest Holmes and Watson in history!

You know, I really wasn't a fan of the original Holmes. Brilliant and dry as all get out. The mad genius might be overplayed to some, but I really do fall completely for these characters...I love your work, it captures the demeanor perfectly.

Just saw the movie and loved it!
NOT the Holmes and Watson I grew up with, but it's a different universe, so it's all good
Great rendition of Holmes, the light and shading are very nice! The only critique I can offer is maybe to revamp/retouch RDJ's split lip... because there's no hilight or variation in tone, it looks a little like he has a lip-ring rather than a booboo...
Otherwise, it's awsome!

Just came back from seeing this for the second time, I have to say, I really love RDJ's rendering. I may sound really weird saying this, but I really am a story addict- his portrail captivated me. The display of a mad genius, one driven by the thrill of life and the aloof view of society, yet someone who has a very tender and human heart; such a beautiful disaster. Every movement and facial expression just seemed so perfect......:sigh: I'll stop creeping people out now. Wonderful art, I love it

Oh, I enjoyed the movie so much! RDJ's Holmes is now my favourite. What I loved the most in the movie was the way od showing Holmes' process of logical thinking and deducting. Masterpiece.

It's very good. But... Downey Jr. will act Sherlock Holmes so bad. Sherlock Holmes, in this movie, will be "soiled".

I personally don't think it's an insult to the canon at all. I think the more common movie and television depictions often forget what an eccentric character Holmes was/is, and it's interesting to see someone run with that portrayal.
So if the film winds up being an "insult to the canon," in my opinion, I wouldn't consider it to be due to the portrayal of Holmes.

Oh, I so agree with you. I love this kind of eccentricity in RDJ's Homlmes - those glasses, a little bit shabby clothes, etc. It's very bohemian, very cool XD, and in my opinion - very canon.

I like the look they've given him, what with the fedora and circle-rimmed glasses. The dearhunter's cap and that weird overcoat are a bit strange and untrue to me.

I am a die- hard Sherlock Holmes fan... According to my friends, I border on the obsessive, but even I am going to see the movie. Sure, it looks like the movie is barely- if at all- going to pay attention to canon, but I am always curious to see how someone else portrays a famous literary character.
Also, I REALLY want to see how R. Downey Jr. and Jude Law portray Holmes and Watson. I am SOOOOO CURIOUS... Opening night can't come soon enough!

WONDERFUL! I do so agree with you on the love for the new duo. In a way to directors have to blend and shape movies to suit the tastes of today while retaining the original aspects its a hard thing to do but some manage to pull it off brilliantly, which I think this one looks amazing! 
And of course I absolutely adore this picture to death its perfecto mundo ;D
