Description
First of all, the real name of the piece is "Portrait of the First Lady, Samus Aran with her Pet". (name was to big for the limited title space).

I've been out for a while, just hadn't uploaded anything here. But if there is something you definitely see in DA is fanart. Actually, I never make fanart, but there was this 24 hour challenge in my college and it was re-imagining a video game character. I chose make a portrait of Samus Aran, from Metroid. Since she undeniably IS the first female video game heroine, I thought of giving her a portrait like they do with royalty, huge shoulder pads and all. This would be sometime after Metroid II, when she spares the last baby Metroid (anyone remember? No?)

This is not the design I submitted for the competition. The first one wasn't all that great, and after looking at it I decided to make a redo, a LOT more painterly than I usually go, and give it a kind of oil painting look. I might retouch later, who knows... For now, I hope all of you Metroid Fans enjoy!
