Yeah... This was originally going to be just an updated acorn tracker but... Then I decided to get fancy and try full shading and gradients and stuff. Still going to use it as an acorn tracker, but I also realized some stuff while I was working on it.

The main thing was that my bun-kids, Hlalvenbrek and "Lucky" Clover up there, ended up representing two sides of how to handle grief. Both of them have lost a lot in their lives and they use that loss in destructive and constructive ways.

Hlalvenbrek's dad was killed after saving her, she feels abandoned and betrayed by Buttercup, and she feels she has to repress herself a lot of the time in Bogweed. She wants to get close to others and trust them, but that can backfire quick in Bogweed and she doesn't want to be betrayed again. She puts up a lot of walls and holds onto that anger and pain to fight, but even she wonders what's going to happen when the war ends and there's no one left to direct that anger against.

Clover meanwhile was kind of neglected by his mom before he was taken from her, his owner never came back and he doesn't know why, and his mentor, the closest thing he had to a dad, passed away. He does care about the others in the warren and wants to protect them and see them happy because he knows how hard it is to lose the ones you care about. It's also why he's so blunt and honest, since you don't know what tomorrow brings. There's no time to waste when it comes to telling others what you feel about them. He carries the people he lost with him and they inspire him to keep going.
