I really like this quirky plant, physalis alkekengi, because of the beautiful orange lanterns it produces.
A few years ago I planted a few and they died. This year I put a few in pots in the garden and they are thriving. Unfortunately, almost all lanterns are a bit damaged, so I did not harvest any for decoration yet. For next year I will put them in a larger and deeper pot, to keep the lanterns higher from the ground and grow sturdier plants.
