This is so charming!
I adore the colours, especially the nice fade out to the sun. That way you really draw the attention to the center of the piece - at first I really didn't noticed Makar at the top right, but he's such a cute detail

Thank you! This time i did a color test before actually coloring it, since i couldnt imagine them from the beginning. Nevertheless i really messed up the water's tone, therefore Photoshop had to adjust it. Makar wasnt planned in the original concept, thats why i made him difficult to spot.

I love that the map is completely dry. Just a little bit of absurdity in a realistic-looking painting.

I was of two minds about that. In-game he jumps onto the boat and draws a completely accurate island on the map in flight. Compared to that drawing on a waterproof map seemed much more plausible

I tried to make it look like a fairy tale book from the early 20's century. They are so impressive my style fits them better than modern childrens book illustration.

Terada's illustrations are so fantastic, they make the zelda universe so tangible. I wish he would illustrate all the newer Zeldas as well.
I wanted to give Wind Waker a classic book illustration feel, it gave me the opportunity to display the characters in my style.
