For me it was the light coming from his mouth and how it effected the surrounding textures. Im new to digital painting and hopefully it wont be a problem for long.

Cool! The fireflies (or wisps?) gives out the mystical vibes and the lightings in the pic is great! Like the ent moves from the shadows in to the view. Great pic, man! Really great.
