Myślałes może nad zastosowaniem xcompmgr'a ? Doda Ci on cienie i przezroczystość w terminalu, IMO zabieg wart świeczki ( choć zapewne 'nie powinienem uczyć ojca dzieci robić', xcompmgr'a pewnie znasz )
