Description
I'm still trying things with movement. Now it's a ballet dancer.I know nothing about any style of dancing, especially ballet, so I have no idea if those figures could actually qualify to "ballet". Oh well.

the technique is pretty good in the upper right pose, but crossing your arms in third (the middle pose arms) or hunching your back (upper left) is BIG nono's in ballet. also is that bottom left a passé? haha, not hating but the technique is totally wrong. the bottom right is good, but a real dancer would want a higher arabesque and her hips would be turned differently.
they do look nice though, I definitely can't draw any better

Hah, thank you for your feedback. I didn't use any reference when drawing this and I should have, and I have never really had anything to do with ballet, not even as a member of the audience, so these were just, well, doodles. I drew this ages ago and I would probably reference the poses nowadays. At least if I intended to show it online.
I know it's frustrating sometimes to see people bastardize and trivialize what you love, I know that feeling, and I suspect I am guilty of that in this case, but so many people commented on this piece that I feel deleting it along with all the comments would be unfair somehow. I don't know. I think? Thank you so much for being understanding and helpful though!

Well, sure, that's fine by me and thank you for asking and for your interest, but honestly, you should look up a real life reference instead of this. You know, photos or videos from performances or ballet practice, because I didn't use any reference whatsoever for these sketches myself. I also got comments from real ballet dancers/fans on this and they were approving, but noted a couple of problems with these. So. Feel free to use these as a reference, but keep in mind that I wouldn't recommend it personally. Good luck

Not bad at all, for someone who doesn't know anything about ballet.

For someone who doesn't know ballet positions you did really well! Although I think the bottom left is a bit more jazz. That and bottom right's leg looks a little impossible...
But like I said, way better than most

Wow! For the dancer in lower right corner, instead of looking back at her hand she should be looking beyong the front (left) hand. Also, her hips could be more square (dancer's hips act like headlights, my teacher says) which means that her right hip could be more where her left hip is. Cool though!

Great drawings, I love them! Yes, they could pass as ballet, but not a particularly talented dancer, just remember, if you draw more ballet sketches, the dancers body should never be scrunched up or turned to the side in a arabesque.

Wow! This is very good for not knowing about the way people dance in ballet. The poses are excellent, things I remember doing in ballet. Now, the running pose isn't, but, the others are most definitely poses from ballet!

I was thinking more of a theoretical knowledge I can't really imagine myself as a ballet dancer.

I used to be a ballet dancer and these would qualify as ballet, especially the turned out foot in the top right.

I'm trying to draw ballet, too. I'm not a dancer. I just like watching ballet on youtube.
However, nice post!
I wish I could draw ballet better so I have enough courage to post on DA. -___-;

Okay, I don't know if it's still relevant after 5 months, sorry, but I looked at your gallery and you definitely should have the courage, I'm sure your ballet drawings would be awesome.
Hey, I just noticed, you did upload one! And guess what, it is awesome

the one in the bottom right corner. Her foot that is in the air would not be positioned like that. anatomically, it's not possible and isn't proper ballet technique. I understand you don't know dance, but the front of her foot and shin should be the only thing visible, *not* the side of her leg. it's just not anatomically possible to position your leg that way with the torso in the position it is in. Other than that, everything else is very close to actual ballet positions so keep up the good work

The only one that really qualifies as ballet are the colored one and the girl with her arms up. All of them, however, are fantastic.

I am a ballet dancer, and I think this is very good only things I see are that the feet aren't as turned out as they should be, and, as a dancer, I know that none of us have much of a chest xD otherwise, great job!

the only thing i could say is the one in the lower right hand corner should be looking at her upper hand instead of behind.... it would through her off balance if she was real and she'd fall on her butt haha trust me i learned that from experiance
