: D This was art homework, we where to draw how the word 'Lockdown' made us feel and how we've coped with quarantine.

I hadn't the faintest of ideas what to do so I made 2 characters, one represents bad things to do with this whole situation and one more lighthearted.

With out further ado.

I must say, I LOVE this one. I'm really quite proud of their design and the affect to the cloud behind them.

The idea for this character is, they are stuck and not able to be free, hence the chains and thin ropes.

They have a sickly look due to the virus that is going on (exaggerated to make it look cooler, so I added veins and stuff)

Originally there was gonna be a pure black line going along the tail to somehow show boredom but I later changed it to dots to make it more visually appealing.

A key hole in their chest, showing that they are stuck (like the chains and stuff) but there is no key so they are stuck for god knows how long.

Now, the more noticeable part. The big cloud about them that constantly follows them about is meant to represent bad thoughts and worries they have. Most of them are pretty easy to tell what they are, such as the cigarette, its a drug that causes you harm and like most, its addictive. I did want to add more but I couldn't think of simple ways to draw them.

I'll explain most of the symbols, now.

The Resistance Symbol (Raised Fist)

The project was to draw how I feel (not all of these symbols are how I feel, only some) That symbol is there to show that resistance can be violent and sometimes innocent people get killed by standing their ground. Everyone should be treated equally in my opinion, no matter their race, their gender, their beliefs.

Long story short that symbol is there to show that the character supports the protests for people of colour but is also worried about it.

Rain Cloud

Bad weather brings down most peoples mood, thats why it is there. But heavy rain can cause flooding and flooding has a devastating affect on peoples lives.

Warning Sign

Its kinda just purely there for visual affect.

Heart *beeP* Or Pulse

People have heart problems, them and some of their family probably worry about it quite often.

That's why it made it on the list.

Fire Hazard or Flammable

Fire happens, and just like floods they can be devastating. Wiping out many things in their path leaving the land as a barren waist. But sometimes a simple fire in the house can cause a lot of damage for the poor soles who live in the house.

Basically fIrE baD

Suicide (noose and self harm) /WARNING/

I'm aware some people's mental health has declined during quarantine. This is a very serious topic, I know it brings people to a dark place, that's why those pictures are there. They are negative things, someone should never take their own life and its truly sad to hear someone who has.

If your reading this and you've and suicidal thoughts, please, don't, you are loved and many people will miss you. Your life matters.

That's why I also hid a semicolon ( ; ) in this picture. Some people get a tattoo of a semicolon because they've struggled with mental heath and or thoughts of suicide.

I found this beautiful sentence explaining why a semicolon.

Biological Hazard or Biohazard

The virus is a biohazard because it poses a threat to living organisms, primarily humans.

Coronavirus

You know, the whole reason we are in lockdown/quarantine

Poison/Toxic or Death

The possibility of getting sick because of something you ate and not being able to get medical attention.

Death.

Broken Heart

Pretty self explanatory but if you don't get it, some friendships and relationships have been strained by the whole quarantine thing.

Locked Padlock

Doesn't need explaining.

Unus Annus Hourglass or Hourglass For A Human Life

I didn't know of any other way of showing the timer on a human life, that fact that it will eventually run out is pretty scary for some people.

This could also serve as a memory for Unus Annus.

Broken Bone

Oof.

Radiation Symbol

1. It looks cool.

2. Nuclear weapons are a thing.

Drowning

Probably the worst way to go.

Gun

Violence, war and other nasty things.
