Description
"Hunter WeaponsLog 10.222.8
Science Team is attempting to reverse-engineer Samus Aran's arsenal, based off of data acquired from her assaults on our forces. Progress is slow, but steady. Command would dearly enjoy turning Aran's weapons against her. We believe we can implement Beam weapon prototypes in three cycles. Aran's Power Suit technology remains a mystery, especially the curious Morph Ball function. All attempts at duplicating it have ended in disaster: four test subjects were horribly broken and twisted when they engaged our Morph Ball prototypes. Science Team wisely decided to move on afterward."
--From the Space Pirate datalogs of Metroid Prime.
Okay before I mesmerize you with tales of heroism and fantasy, I need to announce that I love Space Pirates. I'm going to run away from home and become a Space Pirate. Some day.
So I've been playing alot of Metroid lately (and right when they announce that they're probably holding Corruption back past June, greeaaat), and I remembered something that kinda bothered me about the first Metroid Prime. There are doors on the Space Pirate frigate Orpheon only accessible with some of Samus's unique weaponry, which the Pirates only develop later in the game (conveniently, right after you acquire it yourself)...but what I want to know is why they built doors they knew they couldn't open. Then again, the frigate was probably designed by the same Science Team that decided it was a good idea to engineer Pirate armor that leaves a gaping hole in front of what looks like a very large and vulnerable vital organ. Um, seriously. But maybe, if you punch a Space Pirate square in the heart, he becomes all huge and strong for like thirty seconds.

LOL. Ah, but common logic NEVER applies in games. They want to make things as diffucult as they can. Especially when they can't.

Ha. You pick out the most unusually retarded conceptuals of every game in the world.
It befuddles me that I'm actually oblivious to this kind of crap.

Ever considered that the Space Pirates might have some sorta gadget, so the doors open for them? Like, recognising it's DNA structure?
...Or just a cam that sees if it's a Space Pirate or not? xD
And why they can't move through doors during combat...I dunno...
...Metroid's never been really perfect... Why are there magnetic rails over there, anyway? And why have all the parts of Samus' suit (Metroid Prime) scattered across the worlds, even if some of them are lying in enclosed rooms? Locked away in the darkness...?
...Oh well, sod it all...
Still a good comic! x3

Ahahaha. This makes me grin, as I'm almost done playing Super Metroid for the first time. This logic hiccup isn't quite as plain in that game, but it still makes me laugh. One wonders why useful upgrades are just lying around anyway.

I love her in an undying way. She is one of the only characters I would actually go fangirl over. (Auron being the only other one)
^.^ Keep up the good work!

Haha, I never noticed that, really. But I'm not sure I got far enough in the game for that log xP
I hate the weapon-specific space pirates, especially the purple ones beacuse the wavebeam fires slow and they attack me like my dog attacks a snausage....
Love the 'pyew' sound affect, btw. And the little Metroid in the tank. If I didn't know better, I'd say the Metroid was making the sound affects under its breathe...if it could breathe in a tank full of questionable liquid.
