I've thought of that before... Though I was riding a Gyarados instead of a Blastoise.
Things the game leaves out for a reason. Actually. Something I wonder more, when Im in the water and I let out on of my other pokemon instead. Expecially the ones that don't seem very good at swimming (Golem) I wonder how they swim (at all) and manage to battle.

I must say, you did quite a good job on the water, despite your opinion. I think, if you had continued to add waves, as you did in the bottom left corner of the first pannel, across the water, then it would have looked great. I know that would have taken a while to do, and it looks fine anyway.
You really draw too much attention to (what may seem to you) your shortcommings. You're still a far better artist than most of us (especially myself).

I just had an interesting thought now. The move Flash. . .how can bulbasaur (and evolved forms) and butterfree perform this? And pikachu (and evolved forms) can Surf...wouldn't that be dangerous? Nidoqueen, Nidoking, and Rhydon (rock type as well) can Surf, but they are ground types. And doduo and Dodrio don't have wings, but can Fly? My head hurts.

Pokemon are so easy to make fun of, I mean, these are things people noticed ever since Red/Blue/Yellow.
But, I never seen someone animate the situation. And you pulled it off perfectly...
Here's a good one, using Pokemon in the wrong enviroment.
