And I wanna say again how excited I was you chose these guys, because I had a lot of fun drawing them. The Toymaker and Gearhead somehow work together in that oddball, baddie bromance way, it's kinda endearing. XD
Just check out Yoru's awesome fanfic one-shot about their unlikely team-up (against a shocked Brother Blood XD)~
And I hope we see more of Cosmo and Nathan someday soon!

This looks like it was A LOT of work! And there's so much personality here! Woah! Not stiff and boring at all, I love seeing how much you're improving, it's so fun! You're definitely on the right path!

Oh my, you're really flattering me now. XD Thank you!! But honestly, I wasn't pulling my hair out or anything with this one, being in my comfort zone. I think the hardest part was the cyborg arm, because technical lines and mechanics aren't something I'm used to drawing. So that was a nice challenge. Ooh, yeah, me too. I had so much fun drawing the Toymaker, and he was just a fiesty, sorta tragic, character in the show. I actually read my friend's fanfic before I ever saw these guys' Batman episodes, and she did a really awesome job with Toymaker's personality, I already kinda loved him.

The cyborg arm is definitely different than what you usually do but I think the scene you drew with the pods and the aliens maybe helped you a lil?

I guess my problem isn't how many characters are in the piece, but what they're doing. It's easier if I have a story moment in my head. And I guess doing the alien pods helped me with the cyborg arm, as well as the line-work in the Not Now background; I dunno, I just can't do straight lines and technical stuff. Too much knit-picky details involved for this lazy artist, it's intimidating. XDD
Yeah, you can always tell when artists draw something or someone they favor, huh? Passion shows through every time. (I'm glad I could show you a little of why I love the Runaways so much!

You say that but your last few drawing have quite the technical look to them, don't you think?
I think having a story moment actually makes it more difficult for me because I picture this awesome scene with more than 1 character and then it all goes to shit because I can't draw scenes 
Of course! I generally draw Disney and Sailor Moon alright so maybe that's why? And with you, it's Ed and your Runaways but I definitely noticed you expanding your horizons lately and challenging yourself. That's really awesome! I hope you never stop doing that even though it can be very hard on the soul to keep challenging yourself which leads to creating imperfection after imperfection while trying to achieve greatness (how I feel about art ALL THE TIME, dunno about you... but this is how it is for me
I don't think anyone can escape you showing them why you love the Runaways so much It's more about the people opening themselves to it

Do they look technical? I would say painterly, but I do still shy away from doing precise lines and buildings. I'm not quite confident yet to tackle interior design type architecture for backgrounds yet.
I guess for me the story moment helps me get the expressions, because otherwise I struggle to get facial features right. Like, I dunno how people can do portraits and bust shots; for the life of me I can't do "pretty faces" or even simple, neutral looks. Story scenes are hard to get right, though, because all the interaction means a lot of odd perspectives and specific anatomy poses. Plus, adding a background makes it harder―more scary for me. Actually, I'm finding I suck at composition! I'm trying to do some scenes for Dravina's contest, just to help, and for the life of me I can't get all the elements to play nicely together. I even tried doing the micro thumbnail illustration like you suggested. 
Yeah, I've been doing a lot of gift art and stuff. I do miss drawing my Runaways, though. I dunno, I just do art for fun so I'm not as obsessive about imperfections and failures as all that. I understand why you are, however, since art is your life and what you wanna do for a living. I hope you know you are most certainly not a failure, and every imperfection you see could very well be in your own head; sometimes I never see any flaws unless you start pointing them out, and even then I'm like, "psssh, gurl, you be crazy". Your stuff is always wonderful and you have so much ambition and drive. It's quite inspiring, that level of what you call obsession, I call passion. XD

This definitely was one of the biggest highlights of my entire day, and I absolutely adore seeing you having drawn them being, well, themselves! 
And you're definitely going to get more of these two interacting; I'm working on a short follow-up oneshot to that first one, before I do another lengthy story of these two getting into trouble. ;3 (I also saw your comment thread with Zura; I'm delighted you watched the episodes for these two and also felt like there could have been more to their stories and characters to expand upon!)

I'm really relieved, though, that I was able to capture their personalities, because I've only recently gotten to know them; I was afraid I maybe reversed how they might behave together, since I did get a sense that Nathan was perhaps the darker, brooding one of the pair. But of course Cosmo does get, uh, disgruntled quite easily when he's personally attacked. So I'm glad you approve! 
(And OMG I found Toymaker so easy to draw, which surprised me! I think I'm a fan...)
I did! I finally did get to watch their episodes and they were so much fun!! Gearhead was pretty damn cool and I really enjoyed the fact the majority of his episode was a car chase. I mean, that's definitely his thing, you know? It was slick how they worked in all the mech and science into him and the cars, but there was certainly something missing; he got way furious at the end and it seemed like there could be more of a personal reason than simply hating to lose. And jeez Cosmo was so underplayed in his own episode; I felt like the focus was more on Cash (who was hilarious, don't get me wrong) and I'm glad you gave him some attention and fleshing out. He deserved it, after basically losing everything and being downgraded to a one-shot, one-dimensional bad, poor character.
YUUUSS! So much yes! I'm glad to hear your working on something at present to follow-up the first story. I cannot wait to read it!

Man, I've been needing more of these two. I mean, I got a couple Tumblr asks last month concerning Nathan, but these two are the best. ;A; given that I should probably get of my lousy posterior and draw them myself.

Haha, thanks a lot! I'm glad I could oblige and add to the TB fanart pool for these minor bads. I just really enjoyed the boys in Yoru's fanfic, and then I finally got to watch their episodes and I definitely approve of their bromance. They were so minor, but both had stories where they were out for revenge (Gearhead towards the end, in that "you f*ck with me, I'll f*ck with you right back" kinda way) so I could see them connecting. And both episodes left a feeling there could be something more to their stories. I'm a big fan of under-appreciated characters who could use some attention and fleshing out, which Yoru did masterfully.
Oh man, Nate. XD He just got so tired of those crazy hat-hair-tails whipping him in the face—which wouldn't happen if Krank was at his level, stature wise. (Makes a nice prop for that freakin' huge cyborg arm of his, though! Dang, I didn't realize his mech was more than half the length of his body.) But poor little Cos. I feel his pain since I am also vertically challenged.
YUSS, I think the world needs more of these guys. I gotta say, your tumblr drawings of Nathan are HAWT! I love your art style!! I'd love to see your take on the Toymaker, too, and of course the bad-boys together. Have you drawn their sisters before?
