Description
First... yes... I know it's just an eye... It's a work in progress... and I will update this often while I paint.Second... I am sooooooooo sorry it took me so long to start working on this... and that I threw my first wip in the garbage.
Thirdly... I'm trying a completely different way to paint portraits because, as everyone else has noticed from my previous work, the way I usually draw skin is really bad... I used a lot of blur tool and it made features stand out on the skin as if they were not on the save surface so I'm trying a new style... I'm also trying to paint this in Photoshop CS3 instead of working in OpenCanvas like I usually do.
Four... well... I dunno when this will be done because I'm really busy because of university, society meeting and classes, homework and job search...
Five... yes I will move this to scraps when it's finished... -.-

I think it's starting to look human... somewhat...
Sorry it's taking so long... I've been pretty depressed since last night for some reason and I have trouble focusing... I was supposed to study for exams all day today and... ended up not studying at all and slowly drawing the face on this instead... *sigh*
Ok... For my watchers... I have a question... Do you think the skin on this so far is an improvement from the way I usually draw it? Please be honest... >_< It takes much longer but I think the result is better so far... but I'd like outside opinions... Having your nose stuck to a painting all day messes your judgement on it... The longer you spend on something... the more attached you get and the less critical you are... >_<
Update oct 8
Just added few details today (lip ring and net over right eye) and started laying down the colors for the rest of the skin... I'm feeling this request is taking so long to be complete... I feel bad about it... But I guess it can't be helped... I was lazy at first then my life got really busy... Right now is an exam week so I can't spend as much time drawing as I wish I could... >_<
Oh! I also tried to darken the nose's shadow like suggested... not sure I succeeded though >+<

hm, I dunno anything about Photoshop and OpenCanvas, but I think skin is tricky to do digitally. X_x I think this new method looks more solid and defined. *thumbs up* Looking at the reference, I think if you added a darker shadow under his nose on the left it would bring it out more. (if you'd already thought of that and just haven't gotten to it yet, I don't mean to be a know-it-all 
Anyway, the pose is so cool - good choice - and its looking so hypnotic. That eye just GRABS YOU. *.*
