Practising with lighting and soft shading and such. Sorry if it's a bit messy, it's a practice remember Yay for luminosity! ^^About the straps that lead to no-where...just a shading fail.

I don't tend to use the luminosity XD
I either do it manually, or use exposure
Do you use Photoshop or SAI?
In SAI I would've used luminosity.
