Description First of all, hey look, I haven't drawn this horse in a year, woops.

ANYWAYS
Some of you know that I quit my job because my manager was trying to make me work more hours even though she knew I'm a college student. Since I am now lacking a steady income, I've decided to look into opening commissions again.
But there's a problem, I'm not entirely sure what I should charge people. I know I'm going to charge hourly, as I deem it the most fair for both parties, but how much an hour would be the best for a part/full-time artist?
I'm thinking of charging $15 an hour, because since doing these daily doodles I've noticed my drawing speed has increased without damaging the quality.
This doodle took a 25 minutes, so I'd charge about $7 for it if I charged $15 an hour. But I know that this design is simplistic and I know it by heart, so getting commissioned another MLP character may take longer than that.
If you wanted me to print and ship your commission you'd also have to cover that.

But yea, I'm open to suggestions for what I should charge. I'm still thinking about it

Oh wow, it's been that long since you've drawn Hoofpaint? Huh...

And good job. It's always important to stand up for yourself even if the situation might be a little rough.

Here's a suggestion for a price range if you'd be interested:

Sketches - $4-7 USD
Lineart - $7-10 USD
Flat Color - $10-12 USD
Shaded - $12-15 USD

of course, all depending on the complexity of the character design.

I'd rather not give a flat rate like that and just do an hourly wage, because doing that puts character completely into consideration. I don't want to charge $7 on a super complex sketch, ya know?
