I use Paint Tool SAI c:
Generally you can Google a free download for it and someone will post a dA journal announcing a good site to download it from, that's what I did.

It takes a little getting used to, but after you get it down it's extremely easy to handle, it's pretty straightforward. It's my all time favorite art program, and I've used.. 4 or 5?

I really love how she uses her hooves to paint instead of being a unicorn and using magic or holding the paintbrush in her mouth

I think a lot of creators of artist ponies try to give them the same or similar talent that they have. I, on the other hand, stink at painting and wanted to give the talent to my pony |D

yeah, I think a lot of people give their ponysonas talents they actually have, hence a lot of artist ponies on deviantART xDΒ
I personally went a different route when creating my ponysona; I made her very Irish themed with an Irish themed cutie mark and talent (she creates Celtic designs) because I myself am Irish xD

Well actually, HoofPaint isn't even my ponysona, I don't have one. I do have blonde hair and blue eyes like her, but she has a different back story, family setup, and talent. She also thinks different from me.Β I know what she would think in specific situations, but at times it's something completely different from what I'd think
Ponies centered around specific cultures are always cool, I feel like we don't have enough in our fanbase.
