No I dont have an A3 size scanner. Mines an A4 too. I just scan half in and the other half in and then sort it out on photoshop

Yep...it takes some time but it works. With most of my paintings i take pictures and edit them on photoshop.

do you think the difference between the quality of a scanner and a photo is quite huge? if that makes sense

what I meant before was that do you think there is a big difference in the quality of the two.

lol its ok, I understand what you mean now. Well if your drawings are done only in pencil then its best to scan them in because I have tried to take pictures and adjust them on photoshop it does not work really well. Most of my paintings are done on huge canvas`s so i take pictures of them and then edit it on photoshop. The colourful stuff works ok when you take pictures and then edit it on photoshop but with pencil drawings it works better if u scan it in. With the colourful stuff i edit it and then change the brightness/contrast area to make it look better and when i scan in the pencil drawing I go to black and white and then change a little from there.
