The Decepticon generously offered Raf his thoughts; showing Raf how his face looked in Soundwave's point of view, and their height difference.
Given how effective Soundwave was in the series, I think this is slightly OOC for him to lower himself down and meet the human's eyes.
But hey, a girl can dream!

I love how in TFP they visualy really well showed the absolute size difference between transformers and humans. Just imagine seeing a Transformer face to face in real life, you would most defenatly piss your pants. Especialy if that particular Cybertronian is Soundwave from the Prime series.

Very nice. Soundwave in Prime is so pragmatic that I would imagined that he would just pick Raf up with his spindly fingers and place him on a high shelf before making a grab for the Energon Harvester. Don't call it mercy, but the human child is so tiny and insignificant to him that he's not worth Soundwave's effort to kill.

And Raf looks like he's about to crap himself (can't blame him, really. I'd be terrified too.) but I must admit the kid's got guts for standing up to Soundwave who's at least 6 times his size.

Actually, I really could see Soundwave doing this to intimidate the humans even more than he already does! And Raf, omg so cute! He's my fave of the humans just as Soundwave is my fave of the 'Cons. Plus, I really like how Raf is the human equivalent of Soundwave...kind of

Soundwave is awesome in Prime. But one has to wounder: What does he look like with out the mask?

I believe the story behind the mask is that he was one a Kaonian gladiator like Megatron and his facial plating was badly damaged in the gladitorial pits.
