Description
A concept sketch of the postapocalyptic assault tram, powered by diesel engine from some army truck and armed with the 152-mm howitzer. This tram is designed to break through the barricades using the howitzer and stuck into the crater afterwards. So, this is a single-use vehicle.
Inspired by the Metro: Last Light game.
Based on the RVZ-6 tram: www.imageup.ru/img103/1746788/…
Drawn while listening to this: z0r.de/5984
Now imagine this thing speeding through the ruined city with rumble, swinging and shaking, with sparks from under it's wheels and a trace of black diesel smoke.

One of my comrades was "lucky" enough to be a participant of the tragic events after Socialist Yugoslavia broke apart in early 1990s. He once mentioned that the muslim militants used to build rugged make-shift armoured vehicles similar to this, but in the case of rolling stocks on rails, they did not use trams but instead utilized even bigger platforms, i.e. a converted diesel locomotive, to ram through Serb strongholds at train stations. However, they may be found afterwards to have failed so epically, i.e., to be blown up to pieces by anti-tank mine-clusters laid on tracks leading to the station.

Wow, that's quite interesting information, thanks! To think about it... It turns out that I know nothing about what happened to Yugoslavia. It's time to make a research.
And this tram was designed for battles inside the city using the tram lines, not at the train stations. Because it was inspired by the armored metro train from the "Metro Last Light". So, it's like... many decades afters the nuclear war, when the surface is becoming habitable again and people are ascending from the tunnels to claim it back. I have to redesign it and make a better picture.
And thanks a lot for your comments! It's been a while since anyone dropped by to say something about my clumsy drawings.

The tragedy of Yugoslavia was, to some extent, the same as what had happen in USSR in the early 1990s. The Socialist Federal Republic of Yugoslavia broke apart in 1992 following waves of pro-western sentiments and internal chaos. Apart from causing a geopolitical disaster and the demise of economy, the region degenerated into a gunpowder-barrel and major ethnical groups, mainly the Serbs, Croats and Muslims, were engaged in a prolonged civil war in which brutal genocides and numerous other crimes against humanity were committed by both sides. The subsequent UN intervention didn’t mitigate the problem. Then in 1998-1999 the NATO, in support of Kosovar separatists, invaded FR Yugoslavia (current-day Serbia plus Montenegro plus Kosovo) without UN endorsement, and after an extensive bombing campaign, forced it to recognize Kosovo independence. Nowadays there is no such place that is called Yugoslavia since it was completely dismembered.
During the NATO bombing campaign of 1999, the embassy of People’s Republic of China in FR Yugoslavia was bombed by GPS-guidance munitions launched from a US bomber, causing a number of Chinese casualties. This event was widely believed to be a deliberate act of retaliation for China’s role in supporting Yugoslavians against NATO aggression.

It surely is! These trams are still in use in our city, even though they were produced in... 70s or so.
But I've seen ML-20 in the War Memorial of Korea, so now I'm thinking that ML-20 is too big for a tram.
Anyway, this picture need to be redesigned a bit and redrawn.

Wow, a comment so soon! Thanks, man! Well, I was inspired by the armored metro-train from the last-light.
This concept also includes two gun-trucks that are goes through the hole in the barricade right after the tram to cover and pick up the troops from it.

Well, something like a plan. You know, not everyone of the postapocalyptic people are savages. There are also an officers of the destroyed armies, who still remember how to command and how teach their soldiers into discipline and tactics. And if there are some scientists survived, some engineers and metalworkers, it is possible to produce a DIY-weapons and even armored wehicles.

Well, I thought a lot about this concept and I'm still thinking about it, making researches and looking for useful information. I want to take into account as many things as possible and make it as realistic as it's possible. A concept of how to make as much as possible from the scrap metals. You know, the Metro universe is a very good source of inspiration. Are you familliar with it?

Well no, not really sadly, I wanna get into it, but the lack of time that's even interfering with my own projects.. yeah... no. Maybe some day; I can at least eyeball your designs for a bit of inspiration :3 like tagging along behind you :3

And still... I can't stop myself from saying this. Man, I'm in love with this game.
I know, that's it's impossible to compare it's gameplay with the Fallout, but I would like to compare the atmosphere.

There is no cute Vault Boy, no cozy Vaults, no inhabited Wastelands in the Metro universe. Instead we have a dirty, grim and depressive world, inhabited with wild people. Like a reminder about how vain and perishable our life is.
Such a deep atmosphere, filled with the breath of death. Feels like a real apocalypse...

I know :3 that's the whole allure of it :3

Yeah, the book is good. It's different from the game, but I liked the book even more.
But the book is mostly about the creepy stories, so make sure that no one will silently come to you to say "Heya, do you have a correction pen?"
