Yeah, I have tried on pics I have been painting, but it looks awful! I can never get the right colors.
But I guess it is just to practice...

Yup! Practice makes perfect (and even though I have always hated when people say that, its true) Also, when you finally find a good color, make sure you save it! If you are using photoshop (and i think GIMP too) it has color presets and you can save your colors like that. If it doesnt let you do that you can always make a image with the colors you want to save and when you need those colors you can use the eyedropper tool to get the color. Just make sure you label what they are! Or you will end up with lots of colors that you have no idea what they are.

Yeah, I tried to paint some thing on GIMP and it was really hard to get the right colors. So those that I have been painting is gray, black and white... They are not great painted and i'm think it's wierd that someone really faved it. I mean, they are not well done or something like that. So it's quite surprising that someone liked it. I just tested to lay something out.
Well, i'm glad they liked it.
