Yeah That's often a bummer. I use the Animate script (included in Apo) for previeuws. When a flame is worth the effort I render with AnimateIt.

That's very smart. It looks great.
I recognise the shapes.
I made just two fractals this afternoon.
I get mad not knowing what to do with the triangles. In the end I use a script. It's that or I shall give up altogether.

That's what I do. Random flames are not always easy to handle though.
I sometimes use a borrowed flame. Then people tell me it's so nice, and of course I only did a small part of it.
I don't mind, but it's rather a trick I feel.
