SO MANY THINGS TO SAY. SO LITTLE TIME.The original of this was one of the few things I've drawn lately that I don't hate. So I decided to color it.
I got like. Half way through the line art a few days ago and I was like "NO. I HATE THIS. I'M NEVER GOING TO FINISH IT. WHY BOTHER. UGH." And then today when my computer decided to successfully turn itself on I was like "THIS MAY BE THE LAST CHANCE I HAVE EVER TO COLOR THIS PICTURE BEFORE I GET SO SICK OF IT I NEVER WANT TO SEE IT AGAIN." So I sucked it the fuck up and finished it.
It's really messy and not my best, but I still kind of like it. Mostly just because it's fluffy.
So. I DON'T KNOW WHAT'S GOING ON. I guess Harlo is sick or something and Ray is doing her maternal coddling thing to him. Ugh. She's such a mom.
There is no floor beneath them. I'm mildly worried about that.
Anyway, Harlo and Ray are mine and all that.
OH. ALSO. Both of their outfits were inspired by stuff I saw at Nordstroms Rack. I actually bought Ray's shirt. URRGHGH CLOTHES.
Harlo's arm looks so dumb I can barely stand iittt.

AWWW oh my goodness, you've gotten so good at drawing fluff!!! I'm so impressed, like really. Ray's expression is so appropirate to the situation ... complete concern and empathy for Harlo's Harlo like behavior. They are so adorable to me, but I can't help but feel it is a bit uneven as Harlo doesn't seem to be as nice to Ray!

Yeah their relationship is pretty one sided at the start of it. By the time Harlo learns how to stop being an asshole he kind of comes to the conclusion that he isn't really good at anything that involves doing nice things for people. He never really learns how to express himself in words so he tends to do it through actions and at first pretty much all he is capable of doing for her is writing her songs. Eventually he gets bored with it and asks her to teach him how to cook so he can make her like surprise food.
It starts out as a disaster because he doesn't want to taste test the food he makes, but he gets over the fear quickly.
(his specialty is surprises. Everything he does is a surprise. For instance he might be like "Hey Ray, come to the gas station with me." one day and she would be like "Wow you are such an infant, can't go to the gas station by yourself." And then they'd get there and he would be like "JK, IT'S THE ZOO. Gaze at animals with me.")
He is also actually a very good comfort giver when the rolls are switched and Ray is the one who's sick/emotionally traumatized. It just so happens that the rolls aren't switched too often.

Also yes you have I was wearing it the last time you came over. I altered Ray's version a bit, it's darker than mine was and the stripes aren't as even. It also doesn't have that lacy back thing. C:

The real reason for Ray's concerned expression is her fear of falling into the gaping abyss of a floor.
I'M DIGGING THE WAY YOU COLORED THEIR HAIR. IT LOOKS REALLY GOOD. I WANT TO PET IT THROUGH MY COMPUTER SCREEN. THAT'S HOW GOOD IT LOOKS.
Also, Ray has adorable toes. Just sayin'.

urrghh her feet were so hard to draw because I HATE FEET. They are gross. But she is the type of person who would go around barefoot indoors all the time so I HAD TO.

okay the poses are perfect okay? fuck you, harlo's arm is gorgeous. and just how smoothly their interaction goes and how well it fits is just. you are fantastic. and oh god that lighting is spot on and beautiful and perfect in every way. i lovelovelove your shading as always, especially on harlo's hair.
