Lovely palette, tho i think here a little bounce card might have worked nicely.

Thanks!!
I wasn't trying to capture a well exposed model ...
With fashion I focus on a mood, look, and feel for the clothing...

Oh sure, i can definitely see that; the clothing has a beautiful exposure. I was only talking about 1/3-2/3 of a stop... something to only help balance the ratios slightly.
Are you running a beauty dish on these or are you using a scrim of some sort?

These are shot with a diffused beauty dish and negative fill
This shot was actually quite spontaneous and was in the moment.
The model was moving her head in and out of my main light source [which was part directional]
I could have spend more time filling shadows and reducing ratios but I was happy with what I was getting within the realms of this set up.
In hindsight I could have done things quite differently [for this shot] and will take your ideas and suggestions on board!
Cheers David

I completely understand. I apologize if i seem overly critical. I've made my living for the past 15 years doing retouching/digitech/assisting for commercial photographers and so my job is to notice these things and figure out solutions. I'm both a life-saver and a huge pain in the ass
I do really love what you're doing tho and i hope you're making a living doing so. Are these for portfolio or client?

These photos make up part of a trade presentation/graduation show for a local student designer.
I was doing her a favour but got to network at the show with all the other students so I might pick up some work [fingers crossed] for all my efforts and time spent on this work.
She won best ball gown [see leather ball gown] and a contract to have her work sold in a local Perth store she said the photos really helped her display/look book presentation [had my buisness cards at her stand as well]
I have been shooting as a semi pro for three years but recently quit my day job to take the leap/plunge into photography full time.
It is a struggle making ends meet at the moment but hopefully given time networking my work will get me work
Regards David

Well, given what i've seen here, i'm certain you'll be making ends meet before long.
