Argh... Mandelbulb is screaming!
Years of hybrid fractals produced an abomination? Hal

I often say how I torture parameters until they break! Thanks!

A bovine, poplar tree, and human DNA splicing experiment gone horribly wrong?! It came out horribly right! Very original. Cheers!

Yes, we have all had days like this. Beautiful creation.

Erm... It's a fractal absorbing a girls head? Thanks!

I'm trying to understand how a height map can include concave surfaces. Kudos though. Wicked. Thumbnails look like a fetus, lol.

Well the height map is placed on a sphere. It's essentially a normal head, and it's actually a girl laughing. Any and all other shapes that do not look like part of the head like the ripples and protrusions are caused by the fractal elements. The height map can also be applied with a plus or negative value. At any rate, in this height map the light areas are the deep or far away parts, like the inside of the mouth and the eyes. I don't know if you were referring to those 'concave' areas, or parts of the fractal, which is everything but the 'normal' head shape~

Yeah, I wasn't sure which area implies the height map. I meant those protrusions in the foreground, if I recall correctly with an angular curl backwards, away from the viewer in an askew point of view. But, thanks, these are awesome and I love your work. Kudos!

Yup, those things were part of the fractal. And thanks again!
