Yeah, I fell behind setting up prints again. Unless we use default print setup, it takes a bit of time to do it. I'll get caught up soon, but I went ahead and got this one ready. Thanks!

Hot stuff. I tried some similar stuff some days ago, but the ASurf part looked much too metallic after reflects....

Thanks. A couple of comments down you'll see where I replied to someone else on how to isolate the reflections somewhat.

Really cool! But i don't think the DOF is necessary /:

Thank you. And of course, DOF would always be a matter of preference or choice. From a technical standpoint, it would probably never be 'necessary'.

Wonderful Hal!! Time for another tutorial! Please??? I think I have one already from someone else - Jorge maybe - about spheres and reflections - maybe you have inspired me to try again

Honestly, I still often struggle with reflections! lolΒ But I just wrote something up for someone else for water reflections and they also apply to spheres:
UseΒ SphereHeightMap for your sphere.Β To get a nice even reflection on the sphere only, you have to adjust your diffuse color so that the sphere is a different color than everything else in the image. It can be quite tedious and difficult sometimes. Click on the Diff color swath under the object tab in the lighting window, the color adjustment window opens, and you can adjust the sliders and colors to isolate the color of the sphere. Deselecting the "Glue sliders" can help. Each slider has 3 colors, top, middle and bottom. Bottom is the main color, middle controls reflections, and the top controls transparency. Set all the middle colors to black except the sphere color. Black does not reflect. Pick a light color for the middle color of your sphere.Β That's pretty much it for quick instructions~

Thanks! I search for this so long time, but i forgot for "Postprocess" and "Reflections+Transparency" tab. Calculate only a selection is a good feature.

Cool combination and very sweet colors! The reflections inside the sphere are really on the top! Hm, how can I suggest someone 4 a DD?
